Recoil Control of Deepwater-Drilling Riser with Optimal Guaranteed Cost H∞ Control

In deepwater-drilling engineering, it is necessary to disconnect the bottom equipment of lower marine-riser package from blowout preventer when encountering multi-hazard environmental factors. order reduce impact recoil on drilling platform after sudden disconnection riser, in this paper, an optimal guaranteed cost H∞ control problem considered for riser. First, a three-element mass-damper-spring riser model subject fluid discharge and heave motion offshore given. Then, controller (OGCHC) designed suppress response sufficient conditions asymptotic stability closed-loop system are derived. Third, found through simulation results that OGCHC can effectively. further analyze advantages OGCHC, performance indices without active-recoil with (OC) compared. It shown average amplitudes three mass blocks almost same, while by less than OC. Further, under control, no compression occurs, thereby ensuring safety system.
